Which Goddess Are You? Jailbreaking the Goddess offers a fivefold model of the feminal divine. This model is inclusive of all women, it is not tied to biology, and it is self defining. Her five faces are Femella, the divine child; Potens, the powerful one; Creatrix, she who creates – builder of worlds; Sapientia, master of her art; and Antiqua, the old one who has wisdom of years. Which of these five faces are you most aligned with? Take this quiz to find out! Femella Femella is the stark heart of innocence. She is the one who exists, whole and holy unto herself. The child loves to play, hear stories, to make up languages, sing songs, and wander, lost in her daydreams. She is wild. She has not been broken by convention or socialization. She dances when she feels like it, and isn’t afraid to laugh, or cry, or even scream if that is how she is feeling. Femella’s occult side is an unawareness of her own own impact – a childish self-focus. Like the toddler who throws a fit, flailing her body around, Femella doesn’t have enough foresight to care who gets hurt in the moment of surrender. Femella’s strength is a sense of true alignment when she gets quiet. She is a friend to the powerless. She is a source of pure, unrestricted, unconditional love and forgiveness. If Femella is your most aligned aspect of the five, you are a loving, kind, joyful person. You don’t hold onto grudges, instead trusting that those you love will learn how to treat you better. You are caring toward those less powerful than you, and you probably have a mighty strong protective streak, especially when it comes to children, animals, and nature. You probably love playing in the mud. You definitely love playing make believe. Potens Potens means powerful. She is the bud bursting. Potens is all about action, momentum, movement. When she sees a thing that needs to be done, she does it. She is all about change. Her occult side is self-righteousness. She doesn’t always look before she leaps, and she doesn’t always ask why a thing is the way it is before she seeks to change it. For her change always is more interesting than stability. This can create hardship for her, and her loved ones. Potens’ strength is courage, innovation, a willingness to take action even against the odds. She is always down to try something new, and she doesn’t give up when things don’t work out. If you are most aligned with Potens, you are a DOer. You are engaged in the struggle for justice. You do everything you can to create new outcomes. You are a bit wild, and you would rather move than sit still. You are a gift to your community. You bring hope for the future. Creatrix Creatrix is She Who Creates. She is the builder of worlds. Creatrix breathes things into being. She is the author, the songwriter, the builder, the crafer. She is the mother of flesh and of spirit. She is the dancer, the farmer, the blacksmith, the jeweler. Creatrix’s occult side is the maker of destruction. She may choose to wipe clean the slate in grief, anger, or frustration. She is sometimes jealous or clingy. She doesn’t always have an easy time letting go. Creatrix’s strength is the ability to create. She can make anything and everything of nothing. She can make nourishment from her body. She can make shelter from raw materials. She can make songs from string, and stories from words. If Creatrix is the most aligned face of the five for you, you are a creator. Your passion is making. You stand at the center of things, and let others come to you. You are done chasing the farther horizon. You are satisfied with a life rooted in the soil. You love to be surrounded by family and community. You love beautiful, functional things. Your joy is in the process of bringing things into being. Sapientia Sapientia is the master of her art. She is the scientist, the judge, the professor. She is the doctor, the teacher, the community leader. Sapientia has put in the time it takes to become knowledgable in her area of expertise. She knows her topics like the back of her hand. She is unapologetic in her authority. Sapientia’s occult side is overly-proud of her achievements. In her toil she has become perhaps too attached to being the top of her field. She is sometimes not entirely collaborative: it has been a challenge to get to her station, and sharing it is sometimes not easy. She may become rigid and unforgiving. Sapientia’s strength is mentoring. She is strong, visible, and an amazing role model. She has clout and connections that she will gladly share with those she deems worthy. She is often generous of spirit, and in her aligned heart she wants all women to achieve greatness. She is a fierce advocate. If Sapientia is your most aligned aspect you are a self-directed individual. You believe in just outcomes, and are willing and able to work to bring those outcomes about. You know that there is a time and a place for all things, and that tenacity and a strong internal compass will lead you to the goals you hold most dear. If you are not yet known in your field, you will be. Antiqua Antiqua is the old woman. She is the great-auntie. The grandmother. The elder. Antiqua is the face of our own mortality, and of the cycles of life. She is both gentle and frightening. Antiqua is the keeper of our old stories. She is the guardian of the mysteries. She exists in a time outside of time, while also existing in her body. Antiqua’s occult side is angry. She is angry at being forgotten by her people. She is angry at losing control of her body and her mind. She is angry at no loner having control over her time. She sees the end, and sometimes she gets angry about the things she never got to do in her life. She is sad. Her sadness is deep and stifling. She has lost so much, and will continue to lose things, until finally she loses her own breath. She may rail against innovation, preferring tradition. Antiqua’s strength is that she abides. She has been here forever, and she remains. She holds stories of our collective history. She is a living arc of memory. She loves passionately. She lets bygones be bygones, preferring to make peace with loved ones. She understands that while time stand still for no one, there is always time for another glass of good brandy or tea with friends. She cherishes the moments as they come, and as they go. If Antiqua is your most aligned aspect of the fivefold goddess, you value tradition. You recognize the fleeting nature of time, and you make the most of each moment. You are content to sit and listen to friends talking for hours. You are honored when invited to share time with loved ones, and you welcome friends and strangers alike into your circle. You are most at home in front of the fireplace or sitting in a rocking chair on your front porch. You are happiest when surrounded by loved ones. What do you daydream about?
