Jailbreaking the GoddessJailbreaking the Goddess is a revolutionary revisioning of the feminine divine. Where the Maiden, Mother, and Crone archetypal system is tied to female biology and physical stages of life, the fivefold model presented here welcomes all women and liberates the female experience from the shackles of the reproductive model.

In a woman’s lifetime, she will go through several different cycles of beginnings, potential, creation, mastery, and wisdom. Join Lasara Firefox Allen as she explores the nature of these five archetypes, gives examples of what areas of life each presides over, and explores which goddesses fit within each archetype. Jailbreaking the Goddess shows how to begin building relationships with the different archetypes and provides simple rituals for recognition, transition, and invocation. This fivefold model is a new system that embraces the powerful, diverse, and fluid nature of the lived experience of women today.

Jailbreaking the Goddess: A Radical Revisioning of Feminist Spirituality is an important contribution to the writings on Goddess tradition and feminist spirituality. Allen, a second-generation Witch, brings the tradition firmly into the twenty-first century. I love her political savvy, her sensitivity around issues of diversity and cultural awareness and appropriation, and her unabashed celebration of pleasure, sensuality, and life!

Jailbreaking the Goddess
– the workshop –

7:15 – 9:15, Thursday, August 18

The fivefold goddess is a focal point of Lasara’s new book, Jailbreaking the Goddess. The fivefold archtypal model allows new ways of knowing, encountering, interacting with, serving, and working with the feminal divine. Femella, the child; Potens, the powerful; Creatrix, the maker; Sapientia, the wise one; and Antiqua – the old one offer opportunities to know and understand the divine feminal current, to understand our own complexity.

Moving from the personification of maiden/mother/crone known to many in Pagan and goddess-worshipping communities into a more flexible, self-identified format, the fivefold goddesses liberate women from the weight of patriarchy. Moving beyond womb-based designations for womanness and divine feminal power, we encounter and embrace true sovereignty.

Our work is female-focused. Women and gender nonconforming people are welcome to participate in this workshop. Male identified people welcome to respectfully witness the work & are welcome to ask questions in the formal q&a period at end of workshop.
