The Daily Card

Oct. 6, 2014 – Ace of Swords

The Year Ahead Tarot – Lon Milo DuQuette

FullSizeRenderThis is a sweet, yet symbolically packed, limited edition deck. (I have deck #2 of 93 – purchased from Lon himself at PantheaCon, 2014. He’s truly a gentleman and a scholar.)

This Ace of Swords has a ceremonial magickal flair, with the word” θέλημα” – Thelema; the Greek for Will – written on its upward pointing blade. The sword is crowned with rays, and I think I see a vulvic shape enfolding the tip – but maybe that’s just me!

Moons on the hilt, it comes of air. Behind the blade is matter and spirit, light and dark, soft and hard. Opposites in balance, movement. There is nothing static about this card.

A simple reminder that where there is a will there is a way. And in the beginning was the word.

So it is.
